Brayden's 3rd Birthday Party

On Brayden's Birthday Teresa took him and Noah, along with a friend, his mom, and sister, to the Portland Zoo. The boys had a great time. In the afternoon we spent a little time at another friends house playing in their pool. Rob brought home his favorite meal..chicken McNuggets, then we had cupcakes and opened the gifts from family. He got a remote front end loader, pirate ship, scooter, books, speed racer car and track, some pool toys and bubble maker.
Brayden's Birthday party was on June 28th, the day after his birthday. Seven of his friends and their families helped to celebrate his Birthday. We had a very hot 101 degree day so the sprinkler was set up and the kids played in the water for a while to keep cool. They also played with bubbles and several of them spent a lot of time in the sandbox. Brayden had a wonderful day and was so happy to have all of his friends over to help celebrate his 3rd birthday.

Rob feeding Noah....sorry kiddo, no cake for you yet.

Brayden and his friends argued about who was going to eat the cake topper 'Lightning McQueen'. No one wanted to eat it after I told them it was plastic.....

The gift opening was a bit chaotic, everyone wanted to help Brayden open his gifts. His friends were very thoughful when choosing gifts for him, he loved all of the gifts.

We did the 'dinosaur walk' and Brayden was afraid of a few of the dinosaurs.

Brayden's Chore

We've given Brayden his first real chore (besides cleaning up his toys every night). His 'special job' is to make sure the cat has food and clean water every day. We've had to remind him so far and each time we remind him he gets all excited and takes care of his very own 'special job' right away. I wonder how long it will be before he realizes his 'special job' is really a chore and start to complain about it...

Literally

A few nights ago, Brayden chose fleece pajamas to wear that night. When I told him that they would be too hot to sleep in, he felt the pajamas and said "they're not hot".

Backwards vs. Rightwards

I got home to find Rob and the boys playing in the garage. They went for a walk while I was at the dentist. I noticed that Brayden's shoes were on the wrong feet and said "daddy put your shoes on backwards". Brayden then told Rob "you put my shoes on backwards, mommy is putting them on rightwards".

The boys playing & Faux hawk Brayden

Brayden and Noah love to play next to each other.

Brayden with a faux-hawk. I gave this to him after cleaning the syrup out of his hair after using his fork for a comb....

Noah and his tongue

The past few days, Noah has discovered his tongue and often sticks it out....why is it cute when a baby does it, but not when a toddler does it?

Note

The following six entries are in no particular order. The photos have been on our phone for awhile and were just downloaded to the computer.

Camping in Pacific City, Oregon

Brayden starting the climb up the 240' sand dune.
At the top of the sand dune, Brayden takes a break and watches parasailers.
Hiking across the top of the dune.
After sliding down the dune on his bottom, Brayden looked back to see how small his 'slide' mark is compared to.....wait...I'm not going to tell you who slid down next to him.
